Did you know that a great part of the food produced in the world comes from smallholder farmers? In Ghana, 82.3% of land under cultivation are small to medium scale (<5 acre).

The Ghana Agricultural Sector Investment Programme (GASIP), through the Adaptation for Smallholder Agriculture Programme (ASAP) funding, is investing in smallholder in the adoption of various Climate Smart Agricultural practices to adapt to the extreme climatic impacts.

The provision of solar mechanized boreholes within a 2-acre fenced demonstration plot in Douri, Jirapa Municipal of Upper West Region is already yielding fruits. It's serving as a source of food, nutrition, income and employment generation, especially in the off-season.

At GASIP, we agree with IFAD to proclaim that “Access to diverse agricultural technologies is key to ensuring smallholder farmers can continue to feed the world.”
