As promoters of Conservation Agriculture, which seeks to promote maintenance of a permanent soil cover, minimum soil disturbance, and diversification of plant species, our fight against bushfires is paramount on daily basis.
GASIP is calling all partners, especially YOU, to do the little you can, through Community-Based Groups Sensitization (Schools, Churches, Mosques, Market ground etc.), radio sensitization, leading farmers and volunteers to create fire belts around their farmlands, formation of volunteer guards ….
We must not wait for fire to set in before we find solutions to combat it. Measures should be put in place before any form of fire triggers in.
Let’s join hands to save the environment.
